The Wuyi Mountains in northwestern Fujian Province are the birthplace oolong tea, producing rich, heavily-oxidized and charcoal-roasted oolongs. Some believe it was this style's dark, twisted leaves that gave rise to the term oolong itself (which means "black dragon" in Chinese).
