Part of our Song Kiln Collection, this Taiwanese-style cha cheng is inspired by the celadon ware of the Song Dynasty's Imperial Ru Kiln.
Handcrafted from dark clay and glazed with classic Ru-style celadon, this unique tea tray was commissioned from Taiwanese ceramicist Xu De Jia. With a removable pot rest in the center, this tray elevates your brewing vessel and provides an elegant way to manage runoff water and excess tea leaves.
The shape of the tray brings to mind lotus petals, while the blue-green celadon is slightly under-fired to create a smooth, satiny feel. This traditional style of glaze replicates the work from the renowned Song dynasty Ru Kiln. A complex web of craquelure covers the tray. Barely visible when new, these lines will deepen in color with use.
