Harvested in the mountains of northern Zhejiang Province, this classic Chinese green tea uses a bud-and-leaf picking standard. After harvesting, the tender spring leaves are gently roasted to accentuate their natural sweetness.
This 'purple bamboo' variety, named for the finished tea's resemblance to long, narrow bamboo leaves, has been a popular choice in China since the Tang Dynasty, when it first earned renown as a tribute tea. Today, though crafting styles have evolved, this tea has retained a reputation for excellence. This year's harvest yields a bright, clear brew with a fleeting roasted richness and a creamy texture that lingers on the palate.

As the least oxidized tea style, green tea offers the highest potency of antioxidants, caffeine, theanine, and more. While this high concentration makes green tea very healthy, it also means this style can be more sensitive to your brewing method. We recommend a lower brewing ratio and cooler temperature to produce a smooth and refreshing brew with minimal bitterness or astringency.
