Part of our Song Kiln Collection, this teapot is inspired by the celadon ware of the Song Dynasty's Imperial Ru Kiln, China's most prized ceramics.
Handcrafted by nationally acclaimed Taiwanese master ceramicist, Xu De Jia, this elegant teapot features the artist's signature Ru Kiln glaze: a silky, qing-colored celadon over a dark brown stoneware base. The pot is fitted with a fire-hardened reed side handle, allowing for elegant right-handed pouring.
As with all of our celadon pieces in the Song Kiln Collection, this Ru Kiln Pot is covered with a web of craquelure: hairline cracks in the glaze that will darken with use. This natural patina is an especially prized characteristic of fine celadon, and adds to the pot's aesthetic appeal, as every pot is unique.
