Handcrafted from light clay and glazed with a sapphire blue celadon, this small dish was commissioned from Taiwanese ceramicist Xu De Jia. It is perfect for holding a single teapot while brewing, and will elegantly contain any minor spills or overflow.
The shape of the plate is simple and modern, while the sapphire blue celadon is slightly under-fired to create a smooth, satiny feel. This traditional style of glaze replicates the work from the renowned Song dynasty Ru kiln. A complex web of crazing covers the teapot. Barely visible when new, these lines will deepen in color with use.
